Animal Aid Pooch Promenade

Pictures of Animal Aid's annual Pooch Promenade, a fundraiser where people collect pledges to parade their dogs in the park. After the parade there is a contest where owners show off their dog's skills, and the day is completed with invited dogs demonstrating their special skills.

Sunday may 5/2002

Unfortunately I missed the parade, but I came in time to see the dog contests. There was a dog-kissing contest and the dog-owner look-alike contest ...

After that the Canine Performance Team showed off their dogs. An obstacle course was setup for the dogs to run through. Some did very well, and others seemed to be more interested in the spectators ...

One particular dog named 'Porkchop' for obvious reasons was probably one of the funniest dogs. After the obstacle course there was a jumping contest. After 4 bars were setup, he felt he should try it. He ended up running through the bars knocking them all off, attacking them and dragging one away!

The dog jumping contest. Its really amazing just how high some dogs can jump!
