MP3 Jukebox
-- (Coming soon)
I have a ton of MP3's on my hard drive. The problem is playing through my
stereo, which is downstairs. I got an old 486 laptop, installed Windows 95
and Winamp, and can play all the MP3's I want through the network! The benefit
of using an old laptop is that its small and very quiet.
Arcade Cabinet
-- (Coming soon)
I bought an arcade cabinet! Its been gutted, all the circuit boards and
stuff inside was taken out. You put in an old computer, wire it up to the
screen and control panel and you have your very own arcade machine, capable
of playing actual arcade games from the 80s! I'll get around to working on
it, really ...
Buying and Researching a New Car
-- Last Updated: August 26/03
I needed a new car, the 1981 Cutlass was showing its age, and I can
afford one now. I was looking for something nice and a little sporty,
and wanted it brand new. I looked into many different cars over the summer
and finally decided on the Acura RSX.
Motorcycle Modifications
-- Last Updated: August 23/03
I plan on doing some mods to my bike. So far I've only lowered it,
(yeah I'm rather short) but there are several other things I want to do.
I'll most likely get them done over the course of the winter.
Computer Stuff
-- Last Updated: August 21/03
My computer always crashes and I have to reload all my stuff on it. Like the hard
drive failure I just had. So I made a list of programs I always use and other
things I forget to do. Probably won't be much use to you, but it is to be.
Mangle Random Webpage Finder
-- Updated regularly
Mangle is the first (and only so far) cgi script I have written. It uses a
database of words to pull a random webpage from Googles extensive library.
3D Modeling
-- Last Updated: April 15/02
I've been doing some 3D modeling, and it isn't very difficult. A single
scene takes some time to render on my 3 year old computer, however the
results are just as awesome!
M.Sc. Thesis (.pdf format)
-- Last Updated: January 10/02
This is my M.Sc. thesis from the university of British Columbia, entitled
'Optical and Electrical Properties of dilute GaNAs Alloys'. You need
acrobat reader
to view it, and a bit of a science background. (330 K)
Homemade CD Cassette Adapter
-- Last Updated: November 2/01
I looked for a cheap car CD adapter, so I can play my discman through my
cassette deck in my car. Radio Shaft, Future Crap and Dwellers all wanted $25 to $60
for a such a simple device. I thought that was too expensive, so I made my own,
for free. Its surprisingly easy, and sounds *much* better than expected.
Car Stereo Replacement
-- Last Updated: August 21/03
The many additions and improvements I've made to my stereo in my 1981 Cutlass.
This includes replacing the stock AM radio and adding rear speakers and a subwoofer.
